DARRYL D. GODLEY At his home in Vancouver, BC, on Thursday, May 4, 2000, Darryl passed away after a courageous battle with a lengthy illness. His parents, Betty and Frank Godley, predeceased him. His brother Barry; sisters, Bonnie and Liz and their families in Alberta; as well as his many friends in Vancouver, Winnipeg, across Canada, the United States, and Europe, will lovingly remember him. Darryl arrived in Winnipeg in 1966 on a Royal Winnipeg Ballet School scholarship and settled here until the early 1980s when he moved to Vancouver. During his Winnipeg years, Darryl worked as Dr. Cherniaks research assistant at the Health Sciences Centre, and for P. Lawson Travel as a travel agent and branch manager. Darryls interests included music, theatre, travel, and camping. Darryl was an active volunteer in community work, both here and in Vancouver. While in Winnipeg, he worked on both federal and provincial Progressive Conservative campaigns, and on Steve Jubas mayoralty campaign. In addition, he served on the Royal Winnipeg Ballets Board of Directors for a number of years. Good-night, sweet prince, and flights of angels sing thee to thy rest! Cremation has taken place with a private memorial service. Arrangements by First Memorial Funeral Service, Vancouver, B.C.
